Alloy 304H shows good resistance to atmospheric corrosion, food and beverage exposure, and many organic and inorganic chemicals in moderately oxidizing to moderately reducing environments. The high chromium content offers resistance to oxidizing solutions, for example, nitric acid, up to 55 percent weight and up to 176°F. Moreover, Alloy 304/304H resists moderately aggressive organic acids like acetic acid. Nickel content improves resistance to moderately reducing solutions, including pure phosphoric acid in cold solutions and up to 10% in diluted hot solutions.
